POSITION TITLE: ACTIVITY DIRECTOR
SALARY: 205 Day Contract; Salary approximately $58,000 per year depending on experience and education.
SCHEDULE: Times May Vary
EMPLOYMENT DATE: Open Until Filled

JOB DESCRIPTION: (Brief synopsis of the position description. Full description upon request) Provides leadership, supervision and organization for the interscholastic athletic programs for grades 6 to 12:

-Assures that all athletic practices, games and procedures adhere to the Kansas State High School Activities Associations? (KSHSAA) policies, procedures, rules and regulations; and also the same for league memberships.
-Coordinates training sessions for the coaches on a variety of related topics including KSHSA rules, orientation of new coaches, and pre-season meetings.
-Schedules and contracts all athletic activities for the program.
-Schedules officials, scorekeepers, timers, and other game officials.
-When requested, prepare an itemized budget.
-Recommend approval of all special fund-raising projects associated with home games.
-Assures that the athletic facilities and other hospitality sites are ready for all home athletic contests.
-Arrange for maintenance of athletic fields and facilities.
-Serves as the representative for the Kansas School for the Deaf?s athletic programs for KSHSAA, GPSD, GPAC, and leagues of which KSD is a member.
-Works with Coaches to distribute game results and statistics to media.
-Provides leadership, supervision, and organization for the after school program (intramurals) for grades K-12.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in American Sign Language and written language. BA/BS degree. Must have three years? experience working with deaf children. ASL and English assessments will be given at the time of interview.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Upon offer of employment, a background check will be conducted via the KS Bureau of Investigation & KS Dept. of Social & Rehabilitation Services. Also a Tuberculosis test & Health Certificate must be passed upon offer of employment (cost borne by employee).
